Wang Meng + Yu Miao
Artist duo "Wang Meng + Yu Miao", founded by audio-visual artist Wang Meng and musician Yu Miao, stands as pioneering explorers in the realm of Eastern music innovation. They build bridges between tradition and modernity, engaging in a profound dialogue between ancient acoustic instruments and electronic music to probe the intricate relationship between humanity and the digital world. Their creative endeavors extend beyond mere musical composition, aiming to shatter conventional performance paradigms and expand their artistic vision into the realm of new media art, thereby diversifying artistic expression.

"Grain Rain" is one of the songs in the debut album "Both".
Algorithmic Dreamweaving
"Algorithmic Dreamweaving" is a part of the "Poetry of the Future" series. This work explores how AI, by reconstructing and reinterpreting human input in its unique way, can inspire new reflections on our self-awareness. By providing a "reconstructed perspective," the work offers fresh insights into how we perceive the world.
"Poetry of the Future" is the latest 2024 "human-machine co-creation" series by Wang Meng+Yu Miao. This series challenges the boundaries of traditional creation at the intersection of technology and art, and the digital and the human.
Impression of Shanghai
"Impression of Shanghai" is a series of audio-visual creations by Wang Meng + Yu Miao who were quarantined at home during the 2022 Shanghai lockdown.
During the quarantine, the artists reconsider their relationship with Shanghai, the city they have lived in for many years. They transform realistic urban landscapes into abstract scenery through algorithms in the artwork. Through the interplay of virtual and reality, they rediscover surprising senses of strangeness.
Ark
"Ark" is a collection of artworks featuring the combination of audio-visual images and AI algorithm. The artworks are inspired by the giant cargo ships on the Huangpu River in Shanghai, however, the various buildings attached to the cargo make the whole scene absurd, leading to a hyper-surreal overall composition.
"Ark" utilizes the imagery of a giant ship to explore the relationship between danger, freedom, and confinement. It invites the visitors to contemplate their role in shaping the world around them and the choices they make in coping with the complexities of life.
The Mirage
Wang Meng + Yu Miao were invited to participate in the signature music project of CGTN "Music Voyage". With the billions of years of rock walls as the projection screen and the still water of the cave as the stage, they use music as a mirror to reflect on each other in the the mirage-like and magical scenery of Zunyi Shuanghe Karst Cave.
